After twenty-six years of ministry in parish settings I am excited to be at All Saints Episcopal School and Christ Episcopal Church.
I grew up in Iowa and went to college in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After an eight year career in banking I went to seminary in Alexandria, Virginia and was ordained in 1991. After a three year curacy my wife and I started a church with ten people in our living room. The church was located in a bedroom community of Oklahoma City. I have served as the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Longview for the past fourteen years. My wife is the Chief Financial Officer for Trinity School of Texas in Longview. I have two daughters and three grandchildren.
In the summer of 2012, while on sabbatical, I walked 500 miles across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago Compostela. Pilgrimage is a significant part of my spiritual life and this trip was one of the top highlights of my life. I have made Christian pilgrimages to the following destinations; Jerusalem, Rome, Canterbury and Mt. Athos (the spiritual center of Eastern Orthodoxy). I hope to walk a path of Celtic Christian pilgrimage in the near future walking from Iona, Scotland to Holy Isle in Lindisfarne, England.
