The Rev. Suzanne F. Tubbs, Assisting Clergy

A native of Dallas, Suzanne moved back to Texas in 2004 after serving in parishes in Arizona, Tennessee and Georgia. Her undergraduate degree is from SMU in elementary education.  Her graduate degrees are from North Texas University and the School of Theology at the University of the South.  She retired as Rector of St. Francis Episcopal Church, in 2010. Prior to ordination, she was a first grade teacher, then a licensed marriage and family therapist in both Texas and Arizona.

Suzanne has a passion for life-long spiritual formation through prayer and the classic spiritual disciplines.  She has extensive experience in teaching these practices as found in scripture and church tradition. She directed a two-year spirituality program for the Diocese of Arizona and taught in the Deacons Formation Program in the Diocese of Atlanta.  She currently serves on the Spiritual Formation Commission in the Diocese of Texas.

Since 2010, Suzanne has assisted in the Sunday liturgy at Christ Episcopal Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church and occasionally at other parishes in the East Texas area. She’s chaplain for the Community of Hope and the Prime Timers group at Christ Church.

Suzanne and her husband Mike have four children and ten grandchildren. They live in Tyler with their two dogs and one cat.
